Bonjour! We have a feeling that many of you may be busy planning your 2023 European Summer getaway and have already cast your eyes over our Ibiza Guide… Well, we’re back to give you our top tips on a weekend spent in Paris. We felt oh so lucky to have been back in the city of love and have rounded up our must see and do’s as well as some of our favourite eats! Prendre plaisir!
STAY
What more could we say than get a room with a view! We stumbled across the Airbnb of our Parisian dreams and decided to look no further - not only were we treated with jaw dropping 360 degree views of Paris and the Eiffel Tower, but the location was second to none! We will never forget sitting on the balcony together talking about life and soaking in the overflowing magic in the air.
EAT
Le George V
Fresh off the plane we scouted for somewhere local to eat and boy, did we hit the jackpot! Just down the road from our accommodation we stumbled upon Le George V… Spoiled with a never ending wine list and pasta sent from the gods we couldn’t recommend it more! Not only was the food and wine to-die-for, but the vibes were HIGH!
Le Marceau
Opting for something a little more traditional? How could we pass down a serving of french onion soup and french fries! Rich yet delicious we dined outdoors and people watched from the footpath…in true Parisian style.
An afternoon at Angelina’s was nothing short of dreamy, desserty decadence. If you’re wanting to indulge in one of Paris’s most famous hot chocolates and selection of macaroons, this is the spot for you. Once you make it through the line (worth the wait, if you ask us), you will be transported into another world of stunning architecture paired with never-ending treats. What more could you wish for?
This stop was a hot tip from one of our local friends, Claudia (check out her Style File here) and oh. my. goodness. An incredible restaurant with views of the Tour De Eiffel. We recommend booking at sunset, and letting the waitstaff curate your menu selections for you. Boasting some of the best vegetarian options we had seen in Europe so far, delicious wine and incredible ambience, we cannot wait to revisit this culinary gem again on our next trip!
Located in the 8th arrondissement, right near l’Arc de Triomphe, we fell head over heels for this quaint, dimly lit venue. Known for its cocktail mixology and all night service, this is the perfect place for an long dinner with friends or a date! With 3 levels, outdoor seating, and jazzy playlist this one is the perfect meeting spot for night owls!
SEE
TukTuk Pari’
Why explore by foot when you can see the sights of Paris from a tuk tuk? We explored down Champs Elysée to Arc De Triomphe, to the Louvre, and of course the Eiffel Tower! We laughed the entire way, and oohhing and ahhing at the breathtaking scenes ~ how did they make every single street so pretty? This is now a core memory ingrained into our souls. We truly felt our inner child dancing as we smiled and laughed way through the bustling passageways, waving at strangers!
Picnic Beneath the Eiffel Tower
There are few things in life more iconic than the Eiffel Tour in Paris, and we could not miss the opportunity to grab a picnic blanket and set up for the evening. We roamed until we found an adorable organic grocer to gather our cheese, fresh fruits and cheese. There are so many beautiful parks with a view, so take your pick! Once the sun goes down, you will see the Eiffel Tower sparkle every hour on the hour until 1am. Our tip: find a vantage point at 1am for the most special show of the night!
We made the last minute decision to book into a cabaret show on our last night in the city of love, and it did not disappoint! If you can’t book into the infamous Moulin Rouge, fear not, Crazy Horse Cabaret was such a fun girls night out…complete with red kiss-shaped seats and a bottle of champagne on ice. We left feeling like dancing on table tops and singing all of the way home…the perfect cherry on top to an incredible weekend!
We cannot wait for our next European adventure, thank you for coming along with us... Au revoir, Team Spell xx
