How has your style has evolved as a mum?

I had my children at a young age, and I feel my style didn’t really change because I became a mother. I’m not even sure if my style has evolved as I’ve aged, as I’m still wearing the same things I wore 13 years ago when my son was born! I’d say my style has always been a mix of casual/girl next door/rock chic and I mix it up depending on what I’m doing or where I’m going!

Can you share three things you love about Motherhood?

1.The absolute undeniable power of love for my children. It’s such a strong incredible feeling.
2.As they are growing older, watching them become kind, loving, respectful humans.
3.I love the endless laugh out loud moments that my children provide.

How will you be spending this Mothers Day?

A leisurely family bike ride in the sunshine followed by some wine and cheese – what a perfect day!

Now that you are a Mum, what’s one thing you’d like to thank your Mum for?

I’d like to thank her for the sacrifices she made as a working mum. I know I was hard on her sometimes, but I look back now and realise that I value the same thing – she wanted to give me a good life and the ability to be independent. I want my children to grow up with a good work ethic, and the ability to be independent, strong, happy adults.

How has your style has evolved as a mum?

I dress a little more casually these days, I definitely opt for effortless pieces that are easy to throw on quickly in the morning (flowing dresses and long skirts with tees are my fav).  Heeled shoes are now non-existent, yoga pants may stay on longer than required after yoga (and on occasions, go on without having attended said yoga) and my once flawless make-up routine now consists of a dollop of moisturiser and a sweep of blush…but I wouldn’t have it any other way!  Oh, I also bought my first pair of ‘mum jeans’ last week! Ha!

Can you share three things you love about Motherhood?

That unconditional, endless love.  When I tell Harlow I love her, she is always telling me she loves me more (I choose to believe it’s because she loves me so much, and not because she thinks I don’t love her enough ) Always having my little side-kick to hang out with…I think I get more excited for school holidays than she does!  I love every second we spend together, whether it be long days at the beach, breakfast dates, listening to her read to me before bed, snuggling together with Disney movies and pizza on Friday nights, and of course, she is forever my shopping partner in crime!! Being the one lucky mumma on this earth, who gets to experience every part of this amazing little girls life journey.  From the proud look on her face when she accomplishes something she couldn’t do before to seeing her bubbly, fun personality continue to blossom and shine brighter and brighter each day.

How will you be spending this Mothers Day?

Doing what us mumma’s do best on weekends…attending 2 back to back 7th birthday parties!  However I will be dragging the family out for buckwheat pancakes, açai bowls and a beach walk first!

Now that you are a Mum, what’s one thing you’d like to thank your Mum for?

For her endless patience, understanding and support, and for always making me feel happy, safe and above all, abundantly loved. If I can be half the mumma that my mum was to me growing up, then Harlow is one lucky little girl.

How has your style evolved as a mum?

Ha – currently it has evolved to always wearing an item of clothing that enables quick and easy access to the boob ;)

Can you share three things you love about Motherhood?

Firstly the love! I know it sounds cliche but honestly, nothing can prepare you for the love you will feel with your child. I seriously cry with happy tears almost every day. Secondly, I love watching the world through her eyes, seeing her see things for the very first time is pretty magical. And lastly, watching the man I love become the Father I knew he’d always be. Aaaaah my heart!

How will you be spending this Mothers Day?

We are driving to my hometown of Nambucca Heads, where we will be spending the day with my Mum and Grandmother, so Harper’s Great Grandmother! It’s a pretty special Mother’s Day with four generations of our family together. We’ve booked breakfast at our fave local cafe and following that I’m sure it will be spent relaxing with lots of Harper cuddles.

Now that you are a Mum, what’s one thing you’d like to thank your Mum for?

Oh gosh, too many things! But if I had to thank my Mum for just one thing, it would have to be her selflessness. No matter what, she always put us kids first.

How has your style has evolved as a mum?

I usually wear pretty comfortable easy things, my spell slips are a staple! Vintage tee’s and fave spell jackets! I save my dressing up for when I’m out kid free! So I definitely wear my fave spell boots and a textured mini dress.

Can you share three things you love about Motherhood?

Absolutely live for morning cuddles with our boys. We all fit in our king bed and have a big cuddle and laughing session before we face the kitchen for breakfast and lunch making! Ha ha

How will you be spending this Mothers Day?

Definitely a picnic! Beats any restaurant! We make a nice healthy lunch, bring a mat and botchi set and some balls to kick around and go to broken head park.

Now that you are a Mum, what’s one thing you’d like to thank your Mum for?

As soon as I gave birth to our first child Texas, I rang mum up and said thank you for getting through birth with me! From now on I ring her on my birthday and say thanks mum for going through labour today!!! And also for raising us so beautifully … constantly encouraging us to do what we love, and going out of her way to find the best art school for me, and taking me to music lessons, and supplying me with the best creative tools to follow my dreams.

Ang | Customer Care Manager
with Mars, 17

How has your style has evolved as a mum?

Mars might say unfortunately it hasn’t changed at all, I’m still wearing my Doc’s, shaving my head and pretending that it’s 1998.. I’m living in hope one day soon he’ll publicly acknowledge I’m the cool mum (whilst trying to sneakily steal all my sunnies)

Can you share three things you love about Motherhood?

Eating all the Easter eggs that your family bombards you with once a year, because “oh no he can’t have sugar” Forcing all my musical choices on a smaller version of myself and then being quietly proud when you hear certain songs leaking out a closed bedroom door. The tribe that starts to surround you.. other Mums & Dads, other kids, a wider community that wraps your child and your heart up within it.

How will you be spending this Mothers Day?

Hopefully in the sunshine with the fam, a glass of rosé on the river and trying to bribe a hug out of a teenager.

Now that you are a Mum, what’s one thing you’d like to thank your Mum for?

The strong belief that whilst you are a Mum, you are still YOU first and foremost. If you don’t look after your own soul, you can’t teach anyone else to grow theirs.

Sami | Online Sales Manager
with Esther 2 weeks (!), and Edie 18 months

How has your style has evolved as a mum?

I typically dressed for comfort previously but since becoming a Mum it’s all about comfort. My hemlines have gotten longer, tops have gotten a little looser fitting and I’m always thinking about ‘ease of access’ for breastfeeding!

Can you share three things you love about Motherhood?

It’s all the little moments that creep up on you and catch you by surprise, like watching my husband with our girls, an unexpected hug from our eldest, squeals of laughter or just catching yourself looking at them and smiling!

How will you be spending this Mothers Day?

With Esther only being 3 weeks old it will be very low key, relaxing at home and hopefully some chocolate will be involved 🍫

Now that you are a Mum, what’s one thing you’d like to thank your Mum for?

Everything! You hear it all the time but you really do have such a greater understanding of everything your Mum did for you once you become a Mother yourself.

Elizabeth | Co-Founder & Chief Branding Officer with
Indiana 5 1/2, & Alushia nearly 4.

How has your style has evolved as a Mum?

My body has changed a lot since becoming a mum so I’m finding new styles that work with my changing form. I love textured linen and am really into silk at the moment.

Can you share three things you love about Motherhood?

Morning snuggles, the constant personal evolution one goes through once you’re a mother, not because you seek it, but because it’s thrust upon you! And I love the deeper sense of empathy and compassion that I’ve felt inside me since becoming a mother.

How will you be spending this Mothers Day?

Laying low with my kids, just spending time being quiet and present (hopefully!)

Now that you are a Mum, what’s one thing you’d like to thank your Mum for?

For the strength she’s held for us. Even to this day, there’s nothing she couldn’t or wouldn’t do for us. She has helped keep our whole family grounded and whole.
